Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing along West Main Street in New Britain

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on West Main Street (SR 555) in New Britain, beginning Sunday, September 25, 2016.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.30 mile segment of SR 555 in New Britain. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to begin at Route 372 (Corbin Avenue) on Sunday, September 25, 2016 to Thursday, September 29, 2016. The resurfacing of this project is anticipated to begin at Main Street #1 on Sunday, October 2, 2016 to Thursday, October 6, 2016.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on SR 555 in New Britain from Route 372 (Corbin Avenue) to

Main Street #1. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the resurfacing is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday-Thursday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
