Nighttime Railroad Crossing Replacement Project on Rt. 106 (Hoyt St.) in Darien
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime railroad crossing replacement project will be performed on Rt. 106 (Hoyt St.) in Darien, beginning Thursday, August 11, 2016.
The railroad crossing replacement project consists of replacing the entire railroad crossing on Rt. 106 (Hoyt Street) in Darien. This project is scheduled to occur from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11 through the morning of Thursday, August 18, 2016.
This project is being performed by Metro North Railroad.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect Rt. 106 (Hoyt Street) to be closed between Camp Avenue and Woodway Road. Rt. 106 (Hoyt Street) will be cut to a single lane and an alternating one way traffic pattern will be implemented while work is being performed. Beginning on Friday August 12, 2016 motorists will use the following detour routes during the detour: Camp Avenue, Hope Street and Woodway Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The detour will be in use until project completion on August 18, 2016, when the paving has been completed.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
