Nighttime Safety Improvements on I-395 in Lisbon and Griswold, I-95 in Waterford and East Lyme, Route 6 in Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield, and Windham
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime safety improvement projects will be performed on I-395 northbound in Lisbon and Griswold, I-95 northbound and southbound in Waterford and East Lyme, and Route 6 eastbound in Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield and Windham, beginning Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
The project consists of installing rumble strips along a 5.83 mile segment of I-395 NB in Lisbon and Griswold, a 4.32 mile segment of I-95 NB & SB in Waterford and East Lyme, and a 5.55 mile segment of Route 6 EB in Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield, and Windham. The rumble strip installation is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 to Tuesday, October 25, 2016.
This work is being performed by Costello Industries Inc.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect periodic right lane/left lane closures to occur on I-395 NB from the Shetucket River overpass in Lisbon to the NB Exit to Route 201 in Griswold, I-95 NB & SB from Exit 74 in East Lyme to Exit 82A in Waterford, and Route 6 EB from Route 66 in Columbia to
the Route 66 at Route 6 intersection in Windham. Two (2) State troopers, crash attenuator
vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night time work schedule for these projects is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (I-395 and I-95) and
7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Route 6).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
