The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department)  will conduct a public informational meeting concerning the proposed Sigourney Street and Farmington Avenue Bicycle Facilities project on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at The Lyceum on 227 Lawrence Street, Hartford, CT.  An open forum for individual discussions with Department officials will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

The proposed project is identified as State Project No. 171-305.

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve bicyclist safety and mobility along Sigourney Street between Russ Street and Farmington Avenue and also on Farmington Avenue between Sigourney Street and Broad Street.  Final projects limits may vary.

There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements based on the current design concepts; several properties could potentially be impacted as a result of possible roadway widening to accommodate the bicycle facilities.

The public informational meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.

The meeting facility is ADA accessible.  Language assistance may be requested by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications (voice only) at (860) 594-3062 at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting.  Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance.

If postponement of the public informational meeting is required due to inclement weather or other conditions, a new date and time for the meeting will subsequently be announced.
