Pavement Preservation Project on I-84 in Southington, Cheshire and Waterbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that pavement preservation and paving activities along I-84 in the towns of Southington, Cheshire and Waterbury will begin on Thursday, May 5, 2016. 
The project consists of the pavement preservation and paving along I-84 from Southington to Waterbury.  The project is divided into two sections.  Section one begins in Waterbury and extends into Cheshire and includes paving on east and westbound I-84 including the on and off ramps at Exit 25A and Exit 26.  Section two is located in Southington in the westbound direction only of I-84 and includes the Exit 31 westbound on-ramp.  Lane and ramp closures are necessary for this work.  
Project No. 25-146 was awarded to American Industries, Inc. of Jewett City, CT on March 21, 2016 at a cost of $3,540,000.00.  The project is scheduled to be completed September 7, 2016.
      
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The work will reduce the number of lanes along I-84 nightly from the hours of 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.  Limited daytime lane closures can be expected Monday through Friday from the hours of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.    
Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes during the overnight hours.
