Pavement Preservation Project on Route 2 in Marlborough and Colchester
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the pavement preservation project for Route 2 in Marlborough and Colchester will begin on April 1, 2016.
The project consists of the milling and paving of the wearing surface on Route 2 East and Westbound including the on and off-ramps. The expansion joints of Bridges 00391 and 03460 over the Blackledge River will also be rehabilitated in association with the project.
DOT Project No. 0078-0091 was awarded to American Industries, Inc. at a cost of $7,000,000.00 on January 6, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed July 26, 2016.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Expect lane closures on Route 2 between Exit 12 (West Rd) and Exit 17 (Prospect Hill Rd). Westbound: Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, 6 pm to 6 am. Eastbound: Monday through Friday from 6 pm to 3 pm.
At all other times, motorists can expect periodic lane and/or shoulder closures to occur.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed in this vicinity as milled surfaces, raised structures and pavement transitions may be present.
