Safety Improvement Project on Route 133 in the Bridgewater to Begin
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction will start on Route 133 in the Town of Bridgewater for Project No 0016-0098, beginning on October 3, 2016.
The project consists of the resurfacing of 5200 feet of roadway, 3300 feet of which will be realigned. The work also includes a new 750-foot retaining wall on the west side of Route 133.
DOT Project No. 0016-0098 was awarded to Richards Corporation on August 9, 2016, at a cost of $5,681,777.00, and is scheduled to be completed in August 2017.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Route 133 will have an alternating one way traffic pattern between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM. Traffic may be stopped for up to 10 minutes at a time to allow critical work to be done safely. Tree clearing and blasting will occur during these hours.

On or about March 13, 2017, a detour to bypass the closure of Route 133 will last for approximately 4 1/2 months, reopening by the end of July 2017. The detour will route traffic along Route 133 to Route 67 through New Milford and follow Route 202/7 south to Route 25 in Brookfield and back to Route 133.
