The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Stage 3 demolition of the superstructure of the existing I-95 bridge over the West River is scheduled to begin on Monday night, September 12, 2016. Lane closures on both I-95 northbound and southbound will be required to complete the superstructure demolition.

Traffic on I-95 between Exits 42 and 46 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately three weeks as follows:

• Beginning on 9/12: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights
• Beginning on 9/18: Saturday night at midnight to 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
