Work to Begin on April 1, 2016, for the Replacement of Bridge 00368, US Route 1 over Niantic River in East Lyme
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of stage 1 construction work for the replacement of Bridge 00368, US Route 1 over the Niantic River, on April 1, 2016.
The project consists of a complete bridge structure replacement, which includes the widening of Route 1 to accommodate a left hand turning lane onto Oil Mill Road.
DOT Project No. 0044-0147 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc. at a cost of $3,749,602.10 on February 19, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed on or about May 17, 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
US Route 1 north and south travel lanes at Oil Mill Road will be reduced 11.5’ wide in each direction.
