The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the planned weekend closure of Exit 55 from I-84 westbound to Route 2 eastbound, and the Route 2 eastbound on-ramp from Governor Street beginning on  January 7, 2017, weather permitting.  The closure will be from 6:00 AM Saturday morning to 6:00 PM Sunday afternoon. 

The closure is necessary for the replacement of the Route 2 Bridge Number 2368A.  The work is being conducted as part of the on-going $22 million bridge replacement and rehabilitation project within the Route 2 / I-84 Interchange, being performed by the Brunalli Construction Company. 

DETOUR INFO:

To Route 2 Eastbound from I-84 Westbound: Motorists will be directed to take Exit 54 from I-84 Westbound to Route 2 Westbound to Exit 3, Right onto Darlin Street, left onto Pitkin Street and right on to Jayce Street to Route 2 Eastbound.

To Route 2 Eastbound from Governor Street: From Governor Street: Motorists will be directed to take Blacksmith Lane, right onto to East River Drive, left onto Darlin Street, left onto Pitkin Street and right on to Jayce Street to Route 2 Eastbound.
