Milling and Resurfacing on Route 1 in Stonington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in Stonington, beginning Monday, April 17, 2017.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.10 mile segment of Route 1 in Stonington. This project is scheduled to occur from Monday, April 17, 2017 through Wednesday, May 3, 2017. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Monday, April 17, 2017, through Thursday, April 20, 2017. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, April 24, 2017, through Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 1 between Flanders Road to Lathrop Avenue in Stonington. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the milling work zone. Two (2) local policemen, one (1) traffic controller, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the resurfacing work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
