Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along Route 8 Northbound in Bridgeport

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 northbound in Bridgeport beginning Monday, July 31, 2017.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Route 8 NB, Bridge #03547, (Catherine St.) underpass in Bridgeport.  This project is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 to the morning of Friday, August, 18, 2017.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2017 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect delays on Route 8 at Exit 2 (Lafayette Square) to Exit 4 (Lindley Street), in Bridgeport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through

he work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

(Monday–Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
