New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program

Construction Update: Town of Windsor

June 9-12, 2017

Beginning on Friday, June 9^th at 7:00 p.m. and continuing through Monday, June 12^th at 5:00 p.m. the existing East Barber Street railroad grade crossing in Windsor will be closed to through traffic to accommodate track construction and roadway paving.

Access to the Windsor Meadows State Park will remain open to pedestrian traffic only and the Bissell Bridge boat launch will be closed during construction. Traffic personnel will be in place throughout the duration of the road closure. Signs, variable message boards and detour routes alerting the public of the closure will be posted on-site prior to the closure.

There will be construction noise throughout this period and temporary lighting to support overnight work in the area.

This work is part of the overall upgrade of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line – now branded as the CTrail Hartford Line – scheduled to begin expanded service in 2018.
