Bridge Maintenance along Route 8 in Bridgeport

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 northbound and southbound in Bridgeport, Monday, May 21, to Friday, June 8, 2018.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Route 8 Bridge #03766 (SR 722 underpass) in Bridgeport.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 NB & SB between Exit 4 (Lindley St.) and Exit 5 (Boston Ave./North Ave.) in Bridgeport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to

3:00 p.m. (Wednesday through Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
