The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the intermittent nightly closures and detour from April 30, 2018, to June 29, 2018, at I-84 WB off-ramp at Asylum Street, Exit 48 and I-84 WB on-ramp at High and Walnut Streets, Exit 49 in the City of Hartford.

The intermittent closures are necessary as part of the rehabilitation of Bridge Numbers 03160 A-D, 03301, 03303, 01765 and 01766 on I-84 in Harford. A ramp may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to allow for various construction operations associated with the $39 million bridge rehabilitation project being constructed by The Middlesex Corporation. 

The I-84 WB off-ramp at Asylum Street, Exit 48 may be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Monday April 30, 2018 and extending to Friday June 29, 2018.

Motorists wanting to exit I-84 WB at Exit 48 will be directed to use Exit 47. Traffic will be directed to the right coming off the Exit 47 ramp onto Sigourney Street and proceed to Asylum Street.

The I-84 WB on-ramp at High and Walnut Streets, Exit 49 may be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Monday April 30, 2018 and extending to Friday June 29, 2018. Motorists wanting to enter I-84 WB at Exit 49 will be directed to proceed south on High Street. Traffic will then turn right on Church Street. Traffic will then turn left onto Union Place.  Traffic will then turn right on Asylum Street and proceed to the on-ramp.
