Milling and Resurfacing along Route 66 in Columbia
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 66 in Columbia, beginning Thursday, August 30, 2018.
The project consists of resurfacing a 4.97 mile segment of Route 66 in Columbia, with the milling segment scheduled for Thursday, August 30, 2018, through Wednesday, September 5, 2018. The resurfacing segment is anticipated to be performed on Monday, September 10, 2018, through Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
No work will be performed on Monday, September 3, 2018, due to the Labor Day holiday.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 66 from the Hebron Town Line to Route 6 in Columbia. One (1) state trooper, two (2) American Industries Inc. traffic controllers, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
