Milling and Resurfacing along South Road in Groton
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on South Road (SR 649 )in Groton, beginning Wednesday, August 1, 2018
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.69 mile segment of SR 649 in Groton. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1, 2018, through Thursday, August 2, 2018. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, through Wednesday, August 8, 2018. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday) LANE CLOSURE INFO: Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on South Road from Karen Avenue to Route 1 in Groton. Two (2) Groton policemen, traffic control personnel, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
