Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-84 Eastbound in Newtown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-84 eastbound in Newtown overnight, Saturday and Sunday, December 15-16, 2018. Work hours will be 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

This is Bridge No. 2953 – the Pootatuck River overpass – and the left two lanes between Exits 10 and 11 will be closed.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. Local police and detour signs will guide motorists through the detour.
