Nighttime Bridge Maintenance I-291 Westbound in Windsor

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-291 WB in Windsor on Sunday, November 11, 2018.

The work consists of nighttime bridge maintenance on I-291 westbound, Bridge #6225 (Route 218 on ramp 2B off I-291 WB overpass). This work is scheduled to occur on Sunday, November 11, 2018 and Sunday, November 18, 2018 with a rain date of Sunday, December 2, 2018.

This work is being performed by Mohawk Northeast.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorist can expect Ramp 2B off I-291 westbound to be closed to traffic and a detour will be utilized. The following detour will be implemented while work is being performed: 

Traffic will be directed to Exit 1 onto I-91 southbound to Exit 34, take a left on Route 159, and a right on Meadow Road to the on ramp for I-91 northbound. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday Nights)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
