Nighttime Bridge Maintenance in Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on the bridge carrying Main Street over the Whitehead Highway in Hartford, beginning Monday, October 22, 2018.

This is Bridge No. 1626. This work is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 to the morning of Thursday, November 15, 2018.                                                                                                      

This work is being performed by Hammonasset Construction LLC.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect the Whitehead Highway (SR598) from Elm Street to Prospect Street eastbound to be closed to traffic and a detour will be utilized. The detour will be implemented using fixed message signs and a portable detour signs to pre-warn motorists of the closure and detour. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday)

The detour will direct motorists off Elm Street to Prospect Street and back to the (SR598) Whitehead Highway.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
