Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on I-84 Eastbound in Newtown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-84 eastbound in Newtown, overnight Friday to Saturday, November 30-December 1, 2018.

The project consists of bridge maintenance to the Pootatuck River overpass (Bridge No. 2953) in Newtown. The right two lanes will be closed while the work is being performed.  This project is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 to the morning of Saturday, December 1, 2018. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

The right two lanes of I-84 EB, Bridge#2953, between Exit 10 and Exit 11, in Newtown will be closed. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Friday evening into Saturday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. Local Police and detour signs will guide motorist through the detour.
