Nighttime Installation of Centerline Rumble Strips along Route 67 in Seymour and Woodbridge
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing night work for the installation of centerline rumble strips on Route 67 in Seymour and Woodbridge, beginning Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
The project consists of the installation of centerline rumble strips for 2.94 miles on Route 67 in Seymour and Woodbridge. Rumble strips are a proven safety countermeasure and will minimize the number of lane departure crashes. The rumble strips will alert drivers through noise and vibration should their vehicle veer off into an opposing lane of traffic. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 67 from 25 feet of Smith Street to 50 feet West of Acorn Hill Road/Bear Hill Road and 400 feet East of Acorn Hill Road/Bear Hill Road to 25 feet West of Route 63.
This work will be performed utilizing a moving operation with intermittent closures of lanes to complete the work. Please use caution around this operation as these vehicles will be moving slower than posted speeds and when possible move over to provide them a buffer lane during work activity. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
