Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing along Route 9 in New Britain
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 9 northbound and southbound in New Britain, beginning Sunday, July 29, 2018. Work hours will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.90 mile segment of Route 9 northbound and southbound in New Britain. The milling portion of this project is scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 29, 2018 to Thursday, August 2, 2018. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, August 19, 2018 to Thursday, August 23, 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 9 northbound from 0.31 miles north of the access from Stanley Street #1 to .39 miles south of the Newington town line and Route 9 southbound from .03 miles north of the end of the overpass of East Street # 2 to 0.64 miles north of the exit to northbound Route 72 in New Britain. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
