Overhead Utility Pull on Route 6 & I-84 in of Danbury and Bethel
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing overhead utility work will take place on Route 6 westbound, east of Exit 8, and I-84 beginning Friday, June 1, 2018.
The utility work consists of walking ropes across Rt. 6 and I-84 so that the new conductor can be pulled over Rt. 6 and I-84. The work with the rope crossings will take place from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 to the morning of Saturday, June 2, 2018. The overhead utility work will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 and Monday, June 4, 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect rolling road blocks on I-84 in the vicinity of Exit 8 from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 to Saturday, June 2, 2018 and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 and Monday, June 4, 2018. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work is scheduled to be completed on June 4, 2018.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
