Realignment of S.R. 740 (Brushy Plains Road / Totoket Road)
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of Project 14-174 - Realignment of S.R.740 (Brushy Plains Road / Totoket Road) - commencing on April 30, 2018, in Branford and North Branford.
The project consists of the realignment of S.R.740 (Brushy Plains Road / Totoket Road) and existing utility relocations in the vicinity of S.R.740. Blasting activities will be performed to facilitate construction of the new roadway alignment.
DOT Project No.0014-0174 was awarded to E.T.& L. Corp. at a cost of $6,156,459.00 on March 16, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed on April 29, 2020.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
During stage construction, an alternating one-way traffic pattern will be maintained with temporary signalization. Lane closures will be implemented at various times, prevalently throughout the week, up to November 30, 2018, as specified in the contract. No lane closures are anticipated during the winter shutdown period from December 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019, with construction activities resuming on April 1, 2019. Please be aware that traffic may be halted up to 10 minutes during blasting activities.
