Reconstruction of Route 349 NB and SB Over AMTRAK Railroad Bridge in Groton – Closure of Route 349 SB On-ramp from Bridge Street
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that on May 29, 2018, the Route 349 southbound on-ramp from Bridge Street will be closed as part of the reconstruction of the Route 349 NB and SB bridges over Amtrak.
Lane Closure and Detour Information
The on-ramp to Route 348 SB from Bridge Street will be closed starting on May 29, 2018, and for the duration of the Route 349 SB bridge construction. There will be detour routes marked with orange signs along Route 1 (Long Hill Road) to the east end of Meridian Street. Additionally, a second alternative is from Bridge Street then crossing Broad Street onto North Street to the intersection of Mitchell Street at the west end of Meridian Street. Both detours, from either direction, along Meridian Street will terminate at the traffic signal at Route 349.
