Replacement of Bridge 02220 and Bridge 02219, Route 25 (Main Street) in Monroe
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction to replace Bridge 02220 and Bridge 02219 on Route 25 (Main Street) in the Town of Monroe on or about March 26, 2018.
The project involves the replacement of two box culverts, installation of new drainage and a water main, and associated road repairs and paving. Short term detour routes will be provided during periods of road closures for the installation of the box culverts.
DOT Project No. 0084-0099 was awarded to C.J. Fucci, Inc. of New Haven, CT on January 22, 2018 at a cost of $5,594,999.98 and is scheduled for completion on August 31, 2019.
Lane Closure Information:
Route 25 (Main Street):
Route 25 (Main Street):
- Monday through Friday between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.
- The contractor will be allowed to temporarily halt traffic on Route 25 for no more than 10 minutes for certain night operations. Alternating one-way traffic may also be required during night work.
Weekend Detour information:
There will be five (5) weekend closures for major operations to be determined by the actual project progress. Additional press releases will be distributed in advance of these closures. VMS and construction signs will also be posted in advance of the scheduled closures and traffic will be detoured on these weekend closures as follows:
Northbound:
Right on to Monroe Turnpike (Route 111) 7.6 miles to Route 34.
Left on Route 34 5.0 miles to Wasserman Way.
Left on Wasserman Way 1.7 miles to route 25.
Southbound:
Left on Wasserman Way 1.7 miles to route 34.
Right on Route 34 5.0 miles to Monroe Turnpike (Route 111).
Right on Monroe Turnpike (Route 111) 7.6 miles to Route 25.
