Replacement of Bridge 03163 and 03164 Carrying Route 160 over I-91 in Rocky Hill
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activity will begin on April 1, 2018, for the replacement of Bridge 03163 and Bridge 03164 carrying Route 160 over I-91 in Rocky Hill.
The project consists of the full replacement of both bridge structures. Both bridges will be replaced with single-span steel girder superstructures on precast concrete abutments. The project will also include the installation of a new water main on West Street and the addition of a fire suppression stand pipe system on each structure. The proposed replacement is necessary because the existing structures are structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.
DOT Project No. 0118-0169 was awarded to MIG Corporation at a cost of $11,436,781.05 on December 29, 2017, and is scheduled to be completed on October 3, 2019. T
