Replacement of Bridge 03993, West Street over P&W Railroad in Middletown
The project involves the replacement of the existing bridge carrying West Street over the P&W Railroad. The existing structure consists of a four-span solid timber bridge that has been determined to be structurally and functionally obsolete. The existing bridge will be replaced with a 27-foot clear span three-sided precast concrete rigid frame supported on reinforced concrete pedestal walls that are founded on reinforced concrete spread footings. Water and sewer utilities will be relocated as part of the project.
DOT Project No. 0082-0305 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $5,353,840.75 on September 5, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed November 29, 2019.

Monday through Friday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 AM

Detour Information
The contractor will be allowed to close West Street and detour traffic for the replacement activities for a duration that shall not exceed eight consecutive months. A temporary shuttle service for transporting pedestrians and bicyclists around the closed portion of West Street will be provided seven days a week from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM whenever the bridge is closed.
