Route 44, Avon Mountain, Overhead Sign Replacement in Avon
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the removal and replacement of the overhead warning “stop ahead” sign located westbound on Route 44 in Avon on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Rain date will be Friday, April 27.
The project consists of the use of a boom truck and two bucket trucks to remove and replace the warning sign on Route 44 westbound between Wright Road and Nod Road in Avon.
The work is being performed by state forces.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect the left lane closure on Route 44 between Wright Road and Nod Road. Crash Attenuators, signing patterns and cones will be utilized to guide motorists through the worksite. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
