The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled nighttime closure and detour of Route 136 in Westport at the William Cribari Bridge beginning on Monday, July 30, 2018, through Friday, September 7, 2018.  The closure and detour will commence Monday through Thursday evenings from 8 PM until 5 AM, and is necessary to facilitate repairs to the bridge overhead truss system.

The detour will be implemented using portable detour signs to guide motorists through the detour. No lane closures will occur from 6:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2018 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018. The detour will direct motorists from the west side of the bridge north onto riverside avenue and north onto Route 33 then north/east onto Route 1 and then south onto Route 136/Compo Rd to Bridge Street/Greens Farm rd.  The detour will direct motorists from the east side of the bridge east on Bridge Street then north onto Route 136/Compo Rd then south/west onto Route 1 and south onto Route 33 and south on Riverside Avenue.   

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
