Governor Rell Announces Formal Search
Governor M. Jodi Rell announced today that a national search for a permanent Administrator for “Bradley today is one of the Northeast’s top airports and it continues to undergo dramatic change for the better – most recently the addition of daily nonstop international service,” Governor Rell said. “Bradley is also a major economic driver for our state and the region, and I expect the new Administrator to continue to enhance its reputation for service and dedication to tourists and business travelers, as well as numerous mail and freight-based businesses.” With recent – and ongoing – terminal and other service expansions, DOT Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter noted that Bradley’s contribution to State Aviation Administrator Stephen E. Korta II agreed earlier this year to serve as Airport Administrator at Bradley on an interim basis while the search for a permanent Administrator is conducted. Commissioner Carpenter said the process would be “comprehensive and meticulous” and said it would be completed as quickly as possible, but declined to estimate how long it would take. In addition to sending the job specifications to airport officials around the country encouraging them to apply or forward it to others, ads will be placed in various trade publications and posted on the website of the Department of Administrative Services, which oversees all state hiring. The position will pay in the range of $108,730 to $139,467.
