To Meet Thursday, Sept. 6, in
The Governor’s Commission on the Reform of the Department of Transportation will meet Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. the world headquarters of Pitney Bowes Inc.,
The Commission was created by Governor M. Jodi Rell earlier this year and charged with drafting a report and recommendations for the Governor on ways to improve the overall operations of the agency – one of the largest in state government. The Governor will use the recommendations in drafting her own proposals for consideration by the 2008 session of the Connecticut General Assembly.
Governor Rell has given the Commission a December 1 deadline for its report. The Commission is chaired by Michael Critelli, chairman and former CEO of Pitney Bowes.
At Thursday’s meeting, the Commission will hear from three DOT Bureau Chiefs:
· Michael W. Lonergan, acting Chief of the Bureau of Engineering and Highway Operations
· Peter A. Richter Jr., Chief of the Bureau of Public Transportation
· Richard J. Jaworski, Chief of the Bureau of Aviation and Ports
The public will also have an opportunity to comment at the conclusion of the Commission’s meeting.
