Connecticut DOT Hearings on Bus Fares

Notice of Intent to Increase Public Transit Fares Including Fares for
Urban Bus Systems
Express Commuter Bus Services and
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit Services
Notice is hereby given that the Department of Transportation proposes to increase public transit bus fares. The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation will hold public hearings on the proposed fare changes. The basic one-way fare on CTTransit buses would go from $1.30 to $1.50 on January 5, 2014. Fares on other bus transit services would increase as well. (See link below.)

The proposed bus fare tables may be viewed on the Department’s website at www.ct.gov/dot/farecomments. Written comments on the proposed fare adjustments must be delivered or mailed by October 11, 2013, to State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Public Transportation, P.O. Box 317546, Newington, CT 06131-7546. The caption “COMMENT ON INTENT TO INCREASE PUBLIC TRANSIT FARES” must appear on the envelope. E-mailed comments should be made within the same time frame and addressed to dot.farecomments@ct.gov
These hearings are accessible to persons with disabilities.
