Connecticut River Ferry Service Alerts Now Available Online
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) announced today that it has begun offering automatic service alerts for the two Connecticut River ferries – one between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury and the other between Chester and Hadlyme. The seasonal ferries operate from April 1 to November 30 each year.
On occasion, because of high water or other issues, service is suspended. That information will now be available to those who sign up for e-alerts through the DOT website at www.ct.gov/dot. Interested members of the public should click on the Ferries & Ports button near the top of the page then click on the link for the desired method of receiving alerts – either by email or tweets.
Additional information about the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry may be found here; information about the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry may be found here.
