CONTINUED STREETSCAPE ALTERATIONS IN DOWNTOWN HARTFORD
MEAN CHANGES FOR BUS STOPS
Changes Effective Sunday, August 16
As part of several on-going City of Hartford initiatives under iQuilt and the Intermodal Triangle project, the downtown CTtransit bus stops for many routes are being adjusted effective Sunday, August 16, 2015. Construction for streetscape improvements continues throughout the central business district, and has resulted in both temporary and permanent relocations of bus stops in downtown Hartford. Many of these bus stop changes are necessary to maintain bus stop spacing, alleviate congestion, and improve overall traffic flow.
The bus stop on Main Street at the Old State House has closed permanently. CTtransit customers will be accommodated by a new bus stop at Main & Central Row at 750 Main Street and the existing bus stop on Main Street at Capital Community College. The bus stop at Main & Central Row will become the primary downtown bus stop and timepoint for northbound Routes 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 50, 52, 54, 56 & 58.
The bus stop on Main Street at the Wadsworth Atheneum will be closed permanently effective August 16, 2015. CTtransit customers will be accommodated by the existing bus stop at Main and Arch Streets at the Hartford Public Library or by a new bus stop at Main and Central Row at 750 Main Street.
