Safe Routes to School - Plymouth School District 2015 Mini-Grant
The Connecticut Department of Transportation Safe Routes to School Program congratulates the Plymouth Public School District as the 2015 Mini-Grant Winner of the National Center for Safe Routes to School (Center) and Schwinn’s Helmets on Heads Program.
Over 170 eligible applications were received by the Center and only 25 mini-grant recipient organization programs and activities were selected in this competitive process. The Center’s summary of the Plymouth proposal is as follows:
“Plymouth Public School District (Terryville, Connecticut) will support its after school bicycle club by purchasing more bicycles, helmets and safety vests for students. Students in the program will develop a safety skills video focusing on bicycle and helmet safety. This video will be shared with elementary school students across the district.”
Congratulations to Plymouth Public School District! Enjoy your helmets and stay safe. We cannot wait to view and post your video.
