Teen Safe Driving Program in Manchester October 17-18
In partnership with the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Office, the Ford Driving Skills for Life program is coming to Connecticut on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 & 18. State employees, their friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring or send their teenaged drivers to this educational, informative and hands-on event.

It will be held in the commuter lot in Manchester off I-84 Exit 62 (Buckland Street), adjacent to the Buckland Hills Mall. Hours will be 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. This free event is open to teens on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance registration is required.

The program will address the two major areas that contribute to teen driving crashes: the inexperience of young drivers and issues surrounding distracted and impaired driving.

Ford Driving Skills for Life was established in 2003 by Ford Motor Company Fund, the Governors Highway Safety Association, and a panel of safety experts to teach newly licensed teens the necessary skills for safe driving beyond what they learn in standard driver education programs. The basic premise behind Ford Driving Skills for Life is to provide a step in the learning process, providing new skills and information not currently shared with newly licensed drivers in the basic driver education courses.

If you know a teen who would like to participate in the program, please click on the flyer and visit www.drivingskillsforlife.com to register. Please remember that registration for this event is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
