Torrington – Waterbury Bus Route to Begin June 13, 2016
Service added in Torrington, Thomaston and Waterbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that a new CTtransit bus route operating between Torrington, Thomaston and Waterbury will begin on Monday, June 13, 2016.
The 410 Torrington-Waterbury Flyer will operate Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. The bus will make stops at the municipal commuter lot at 100 Franklin Street and South Main Street in Torrington, and Main Street in Thomaston. In Waterbury, the route will make stops at the Department of Social Services, the Waterbury Railroad Station, St. Mary’s Hospital and the University of Connecticut Waterbury Campus. A route map and timetable will be available at www.cttransit.com in the Waterbury local schedules section.
“This new route will provide an important link between Torrington and Waterbury,” said CTDOT Commissioner James Redeker. “In addition to enabling Torrington residents access to services in Waterbury, this route will provide significant regional connectivity with CTfastrak express service to Hartford and CTrail Waterbury Branch train service to Bridgeport.”
The regular one-way fare for this route will be $1.50. Senior citizens (age 65 and over) and persons with disabilities may travel for half-fare by showing a Medicare card or a state-issued Reduced Fare ID to the operator. Multi-ride passes are also available.
The schedule for the new service can be found here; a map of the route is here.
