Connecticut River Ferry Service Resumes April 1
No Monday Service on Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry Initially
The Connecticut Department of Transportation today announced that ferry service across the Connecticut River – between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury, and between Chester and Hadlyme – will resume on Sunday, April 1, 2018.
Because of staffing issues, the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury ferry will not be operating on Mondays when the season opens. Ferry operations are always subject to service interruptions due to weather conditions and high water.
These popular ferries operate each year from April 1 to November 30.
The Rocky Hill/Glastonbury ferry is the oldest continuously operated ferry in America, having begun service in 1655. The Chester/Hadlyme ferry opened in 1769.
Additional information on the ferries – including fares, schedules and history – may be found on the CTDOT website, www.ct.gov/dot.
