CTDOT ANNOUNCES INSTALLATION OF TICKET VENDING MACHINE
AT THE WINDSOR LOCKS HARTFORD LINE STATION
Newly installed ticket vending machine allows passengers to purchase
Hartford Line tickets prior to boarding
(HARTFORD, CT—November 16, 2018) – The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) today announced that a ticket vending machine (TVM) has been installed at the existing station in Windsor Locks. As of today, the TVM is fully functional and selling Hartford Line tickets.
With the installation of this TVM at Windsor Locks Station, all Hartford Line stations have TVMs, except for the historic Windsor Station. CTDOT is working with the Town of Windsor to meet historic preservation guidelines that govern the work that needs to be done to install a TVM at the Windsor Station. CTDOT anticipates that the Windsor Station TVM will be installed in early 2019.
Until then, passengers boarding Hartford Line trains at the Windsor Station can purchase one-way tickets onboard CTrail trains for no additional surcharge; and can purchase tickets from Amtrak trains serving the Hartford Line by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL, on Amtrak.com, or by using the Amtrak mobile application. Valid Amtrak tickets are accepted onboard CTrail trains for up to 2 hours after the scheduled departure time.
Additional information on tickets and fares can be found at www.hartfordline.com.
