The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. “This project will replace the existing bridge to improve safety and extend the lifespan of the structure, as well as improve roadway drainage systems,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Marc Byrnes. “CTDOT encourages the surrounding community to attend this meeting to learn more about the project and any potential impacts to their travels in the area.”
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project includes partial permanent takes, drainage right-of-way, permanent slope easements, temporary construction easement, along with rights to install gravel pull-offs, relocate trail, remove and reset stone wall, install sediment control system, and reconstruct driveway.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $4.41. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
