Welcome to the webpage for Project 0172-0517, Metalizing of various bridges along the I-395 corridor, from Montville to Thompson, Connecticut.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held in the upcoming weeks. The exact time and date of the meeting will be announced later.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.
The purpose of the project is to protect the steel members and preserve the condition of the bridges, thus extending the service life of these structures and maintaining the bridges in a good state of repair.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin in August, 2023 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $26,375,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
