Welcome to the webpage for Project 0403-0017, Stamford Electric Bus Garage, in the City of Stamford.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.
The purpose of the project is to support 100% electrification of CTtransit Stamford division bus fleet. CTDOT will be constructing a free-standing 11-Battery Electric Bus (BEB) building on existing CTtransit Stamford bus storage and maintenance site located on 26 Elm Ct Stamford, CT for additional indoor storage and charging of BEB fleet.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin Fall 2024 based on the availability of funding, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $14.4 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
