Pre-Purchase Inspections

Authority holders who are planning on purchasing a modified / stretched vehicle, a mobility assist /wheelchair vehicle, or a bus-type vehicle can request a free inspection of the vehicle.  This inspection is limited: the inspection will determine if the vehicle  as-built and as-equipped will meet the regulatory requirements of CTDOT, and therefore can be used in livery or bus service to transport passengers for hire.  This inspection will not evaluate the condition of operational systems or components, or the vehicle in general.

Please email one of the Public Transit Inspectors whose contact information appears at the bottom of our page.  In your email, provide the details of the vehicle you are considering, and the location.  For example : 2016 Ford F350 Starcraft 10 passenger bus, located at RMR Used Cars, Vernon, CT.
