• 11/5/2012 Gov. Malloy Orders Extension of Practice Provision for Physical Therapist Assistant Candidates

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed an executive order granting a 30-day extension of the 120-day temporary practice provision for Connecticut physical therapist assistant candidates who had been scheduled to take the October 30, 2012 licensure examination, which was postponed due to the impact of Storm Sandy on the state.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that FEMA will operate mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Milford, Guilford and Stonington over the next few days to assist homeowners and businesses affected by Storm Sandy. Previously, Governor Malloy announced the opening of DRCs in Bridgeport, Greenwich, Groton, New Haven and Old Saybrook.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy directed Connecticut flags to fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in honor of Lieutenant Russell F. Neary, the Easton firefighter who was killed in the line of duty during Storm Sandy.

• 11/2/2012 Gov. Malloy: New Haven Rail Line Branch Service to Resume Monday

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that rail service on the Danbury and Waterbury branch lines of the New Haven Line will resume Monday, November 5, 2012. Bus service will be provided on the New Canaan branch line at least on Monday and Tuesday, November 5-6.

• 11/2/2012 Gov. Malloy Signs Order Allowing Propane Tanks to be Filled by Alternate Distributors

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order 27 which will allow any propane supplier to respond to a request to fill a propane tank irrespective of whether they are the owner of the tank. This order will particularly help those who lease their propane tank from their supplier, because under normal conditions, only the owner of the propane tank may respond to these requests.

• 11/1/2012 Gov. Malloy: Service on Main New Haven Rail Line Resumes Friday Morning

  As the result of night-and-day repairs and coordinated equipment logistics by a dedicated workforce in the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Sandy, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that regular weekday service will return Friday morning to the main line of the New Haven rail commuter line. In addition, the Governor said that train fares will be waived on Friday.

  Today at 11:30 a.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will join U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation and other local officials for a media availability at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport.

• 11/1/2012 Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Approved For Federal Emergency Highway Funding For Initial Storm Damage

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has approved the state’s request for an immediate $2 million in emergency funding for infrastructure repairs resulting from Storm Sandy. The Governor received the news during a telephone call from USDOT Secretary Ray LaHood.
