The beginning of the New England Disaster Training Center (NEDTC) was the National Defense Authorization Act of 2009.  The State of Connecticut received an $8M appropriation to construct a disaster training site for first responder training.  The Connecticut Military Department’s, Facilities Management Office was tasked to manage the construction of the NEDTC at Camp Hartell, and on July 8th, 2010, NEDTC was operational.
