| Connecticut Statewide Health Care Facilities and Services Plan |
| Goal:
To provide guidance and expertise in the development of guiding principles, standards, criteria and/or methodologies to be used in establishing Connecticut's first Statewide Health Care Facilities and Services Plan.
Background: The Office of Health Care Access, a division within the Department of Public Health, is charged with establishing and maintaining a statewide health care facilities and services plan. The DPH commissioner has established this advisory body/committee in order to benefit from the expertise and experience of its members in their respective health care fields.
Issues to be Examined: Review research conducted by DPH OHCA and provide feedback and discussion regarding inclusion within its plan (e.g., other state's facilities and services plan contents). Recommend authoritative professional organizations, published studies, industry-recognized standards/criteria/methodologies, etc. to be considered by DPH OHCA in the development of its plan. Provide insight regarding best practices and evidenced based research. Provide feedback on DPH OHCA's use and interpretation of available data (e.g., facility/service inventory, IP discharge database, ED database). Service/bed need projections (e.g., inpatient bed need, ambulatory surgery need, imaging need)
