The Legislative Liaison and the Staff Attorneys handle legislative and legal issues for Aging and Disability Services (ADS).
The Staff Attorneys are in-house counsel to the agency. They handle various legal issues related to the department's work. This includes researching, interpreting, analyzing, and applying complex and conflicting laws and regulations.
The Staff Attorneys also act as a hearing officer. They represent ADS in formal administrative and public proceedings. They ensure legal compliance with all Freedom of Information Act requests.
The Legislative Liaison advises on and coordinates legislative proposals. They also advocate for and represent Aging and Disability Services (ADS) at the General Assembly. The Legislative Liaison serves as the Ethics Liaison for the agency as well.
