From the scenic Connecticut River to vibrant downtowns, a plethora of food and entertainment options, and a convenient location with access to three major highways, this is the place to be.

Middlesex County is home to a robust network of manufacturers in the aerospace supply chain, and in other critical areas within the industry. Companies like Whelen Engineering, Jarvis Products Corporation, the Lee Company, Tower Laboratories, GKN Aerospace Services Structures, Pegasus Manufacturing, Aerocision and many more are also adding jobs and stepping up to the plate as terrific corporate citizens.

Aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney’s Middletown Engine Center, owned by United Technologies, supplies products like the Geared Turbofan engine for the Airbus A320neo and the F135 engine for the F-35 Lightning II. Already a big employer, the company recently announced that its hiring thousands of workers right here in Connecticut over the next ten years.

Tourism continues to be a key economic driver in the Middlesex region. The Goodspeed Opera House, Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, Lyman Orchards, Waters Edge Resort and Spa, Saybrook Point Inn, Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park, Powder Ridge Mountain Park and Resort, TPC at River Highlands, The Durham Fairgrounds, The Gelston House, The Griswold Inn, Gillette Castle State Park, and The Connecticut River Museum, just to name a few, drive our economy and bring people and dollars into our region every day.

Middlesex County is strategically located in the center of the great state of Connecticut and has direct access to Interstates 91 and 95 and to CT Route 9. Our entire region is just a short drive to New Haven, Hartford and Stamford, and even to New York and Boston and other major centers of commerce.
